Oil Temp Higher After Tune
What effect can tuning have on oil temp and why?
After getting my car tuned, I noticed that it doesn't take near as long as it used to to warm up the oil. And it now seems to sit at 207 instead of the 205 it used to. No biggie, but it is winter and yesterday in traffic at 68F it got to 212 - I had never seen more than 209 in 100F stop and go traffic before. The water temp remains constant, but I am worried about when summer comes around.

Do younotice better response since the tune?
If so, I would think the motor is running harder and performing better. It would still be running harder at a stop.
My. 02. I don't do my own wrenching so I may be way off base but it's a thought.

I really don't feel too much difference, it just seems a little smoother at idle.

2 degrees of oil temp is no concern----Sounds like you're just enjoying the power more and driving it harder----The oil temps are always higher than the coolant temps anyway--Normal/safe can be 220----even higher isn't all that bad---Just keep the oil fresh--so it won't break down---change it when the reminder tells you or about every 5k miles with Mobil 1
