Default max possible tuning gain

Finally after 15 years driving the 2001 Z06, I took it to a local tuner, who will for the time being remain anonymous. You'll see why. He said the tune should gain between 30 and 50 HP and TQ, which sounded like what I've read on the forums.
He said my stock '01 Z06 385 HP/385TQ with K&N, and B&B catback, pre --tune turned 449 WHP and similar torque! Awesome, right? He said post tune it turned 505 WHP, 490 torque.
Well, as you can imagine in my joy over him working a miracle, I clapped him on the back and hugged him, and thanked him for saving me over $1500 for heads/cam package, which till now, I thought I'd need to get those power numbers.
To his credit, he did gain me about 5 mph top speed on straight, and 3-4 mph on turn exit from a carousel.
You guys' thoughts? What should I do now with the $1500 he saved me???

I think your tuner is delirious and his dyno is just as crazy.

Seriously not trying to be rude, but, is this a joke? Your saying this guy took your 385HP Z, which on a good day would put down 355ish stock at the wheels, and "tuned" it to 505 REAR WHEEL hp? So he turned your 2001 into a bolt on C6 Z06 with just a small laptop? I'm not sure who or what is more insane, that you believe a word coming out of his mouth or him and his lying dyno combination.

Not gonna happen----These cars are well tuned bone stock--and your mods are simple bolt ons---At best a C5 stock or with bolt ons will gain only about 15-20 RWHP
Adding cam and hds and headers is where tuning is a must--These mods require a tune in order to get the full potential of your mods--
Realistically
CAI is worth 8-10 RWHP
Cat-back exhaust same 8-10 RWHP
Your engine stock has 385 crank HP - 10% for drivetrain loss equals 346 RWHP
so 346+10+10= 366 RWHP
After tuning you might gain another 15 RWHP
Net RWHP after the tune would be approx. 381
The rest is all BS---sorry---

It is well accepted that a C5 Z06 with full bolt ons AND long tube headers will make approx. 400 RWHP----so that shows that your numbers are more in line to what I say
