american racing headers problem-no tuning bung
Just bought a set of used american 1 7/8 headers w/cats for my 08 ls3 vette. Problem is I want to keep a wide band in at all times for tuning and monitoring....there is no extra bung for that and the rear bungs will not do because they are after the cats....anyone welded in an extra bung for this specific application...need to find a place before the cats that will be easy to access and not hit anything...wideband kit includes an extra bung

Wide band location by every manufacturer is to place it above the 9 and 3 o'clock position to avoid moisture settling into the sensor ---
If you cannot install a bung precat you can still get a very accurate reading with a simple tailpipe adapter--Just realize that a reading post cats is normally about .5 to .8 AFR points leaner reading it there-- There is no real need to install a wideband permanently just used for testing---Once adjusted it will be fine most of the time --only change is if you go to drastic elevation changes----But who wants to make am AFR correction while on vacation in Tahoe ???? Just drive the car and have fun--
