Default Textralia clutch is in...WOW!

Just installed a textralia clutch in my car....all I have to say is WOW! this clutch is SMOOTH!. it had no chatter at all from the start. the engagement feels stock as does the pedal pressure. this clutch is a dream to drive on the street. like many others, I had just accepted the fact that a 700+ rwhp clutch was going to be an on-off switch. when Peter told me that this clutch would drive like a stock one I was VERY skeptical. well, I am now a believer in Textralia. it certainly has great street manners. the true test will be the drag strip in a couple of weeks, but I am confident that it will hold up well. if you are looking for a great driving street clutch that will handle big power...this is it.

Thanks for the update. Seems like consistent feedback thus far. Now we need consistent track results!

hmm, must be the day. I just drove home from RPM with my Textralia installed. I'm not at 700, more like a 450rwhp h/c car, but I agree with the pedal effort. It's extremely light feeling, especially after driving a mcleod twin disk for the past two years. The engagement point is alot lower in the pedal release than I envisioned. It's going to take some getting use to, but so far I give it a thumbs up.

Although Textralia claims it doesn't need much, I'm going to give it ample break-in before I start hammering on it to be on the safe side.

I'm in need of a clutch replacement myself. Where did you buy yours? Did you install it yourself?

Hopefully a much lower engagement point than our stock clutches...

Textralia.com. 1-800-810-9014...they are a site sponsor and are listed under clutches in the list on the left side of the forum. the toll free number goes to australia and they are 7hrs behind us time wise. so call late in the day as opposed to early in the morning.

yes, I installed the clutch myself. it was very straightforward.

the engagement point on my clutch is much lower than stock. it takes a little getting used to.

So this clutch is good for 700 hp and it drives like stock? Sounds too good. They have a very nice website but nothing is on it yet. How much does this clutch cost?

We are also a distributor for them if anyone is interested. We have been waiting to get some track time on them before we back the clutch but unfortunatly our track rental was rained out yesterday. As far as hard hitting on the street, it's great. We installed one on a car with over 720 rwtq so we are going to give it some rough testing.I'll keep you posted.

After talking to Doug & Chris at ECS, I ordered one of the "Aussie" clutches today. Can't wait to try it after all the good reports it's gotten so far!

People that just had these put in, after you drive for a couple hundred miles, the engagement point wont be quite as abrupt. When I left the shop, I felt the same way but after 2 days, i was able to slip it easy.

At this point I could not be happier--if it last and holds up as reported it will be a god send--my car is just for the street so I hope it will last a very long time and the streetability is second to none--

it won't be long before I make it out. I'll definitely call it the way I see it.

thanks for the heads up, kumar.
