What does it take to install HUD into a 2000 and 2001?? Can it be done? Too expensive?

this topic is discussed often, just search and you will find the info you need.

and to get you started, the parts are cheap and you do not need the HUD windshield.

You'll need a HUD projector, dash bezel, HUD control switch and a 11 wire harness (connects the HUD switch to your instrument cluster). The first 3 items can be bought new, for less than $300 for several CF sponsers. The harness is more difficult to find, but, they can be found. There are a few guys that make them or sell kits to modify your current 7 wire harness into a 11 wire---check the C5 parts for sale or even ebay. It took me about 10 hours to install mine, but, I'm old and slow and took far to many rest and beer breaks. Good luck.

I did it and it was the best mod I ever did. Take a look at some instructions here on the forum.
Hardest part was to cut the opening into the dash. This only took me 1 hour because the bezel itself was not the best template. Be careful not to cut too much.

Again, go ahead and do it.
Frederik
