Default Reverse lockout not working ?

On my 02 Z06, the reverse lockout intermittently doesn't work, so that occasionally, going down the highway, when I go to shift into 5th, it sometimes let's it slide into the Reverse slot instead. What would cause this?

There's been quite a few complaints about this. You'll grind the syncros of reverse, but probably never actually go into reverse. A mechanical lockout like the C-4s had in 90 would be better.

I don't think there is anything you can do about this. I am actually working on a mechanical solenoid lockout system at this time.
