How do I fix rain leak from the roof?
Where the targa top meets the glass, there is a lot of water falling into the cabin. Washing the car is getting to be a nightmare and more importantly the heavy rain we've been having in Dallas lately is also getting in the cabin. How do I fix this. I took it to the GM dealership and they offered to adjust the weather stripping for $150 for both doors but said they couldn't gaurantee it would be leak proof. Any suggestions, and if anyone's in the Dallas area, do you know of any good shops??

I have the same problem, it is annoying drops that com from where the front of the Targa meets the windows. Drivers side especially. If you look at that spot you may see that that is the place where the weather stripping doesn't overlap the glass as in other places. It causes a lot of outside wind noise at greater speeds also. I have not tried it yet but It was recommended to me to us silicone inside the weather stripping to push it out a little bit. I plan on replacing with new.

Try Black RTV sealant; cna be purchased at any auto parts store. apply it onthe area where you think is leaking then install the top and let it dry for 24 hours before gettng it wet.

This stuff works like a charm for t-tops and targa tops.

The stealership said my weatherstripping is fine and they offered to pull out all the weatherstripping and reinstall it for $480!! Keep in mind this price still doesn't gaurantee I can even go through a car wash, but they said will gaurantee rain will not get in. Any other suggestions on what I should do........? To me, it's not a big deal and I can drive another car if it's going to rain hard, but it seems like $480 is a rip off for no new parts and just reinstalling my old weatherstrip.

You just have to adjust the top. Its not actually leaking from there, it leaks from where the top meets the winsheild and carries back and drops in from the mid window area. Adjust the top sit forward more and it will tighten the seal, and you should be ok from there

It deals with a leak above the glass, by the blowout clip. Hope this helps.

All you need to do is adjust the windows!! There are adjustments that allow you to have the glass move up and also move inward. All you need to do is tilt the window glass inward to apply a little more pressure on the gasket.
Save your money and adjust the glass yourself> If you cant do it yourself, find a shop that knows their *** from a hole in the ground and get them to adjust the window.
That dealership sounds like a bunch of winners! Pull out the gasket and reinstall it! Geish!!!!!!!! I would fix it for you for FREE if you lived close!!! If you felt generous you could donate the $450 to my C6 ZO6 fund!!!

Go to http://www.johndennington.com and go to the how to section of his site. Look for the window tip in adjustment. This should solve your problem.
