Why do you think you needed it, what do you think it is going to do for you?

No, for the money.
Most octane boosters contain Toulene or Xylene
Go to the hardware store and get it buy the gallon.
Common ingredient in Octane Boosters in a can. 12-16 ounces will only raise octane 2-3 *points*, I.e. from 92 to 92.3. Often costs $3-5 for 12-16 ounces, when it can be purchased for less than $3/gal at chemical supply houses or paint stores.
MAKE YOUR OWN OCTANE BOOST
How to make your own octane booster (this is the basic formula of one of the popular octane booster products). To make eight 16 ounce bottles (128 oz = 1 gal):
100 oz of toulene for octane boost
25 oz of mineral spirits (cleaning agent)
3 oz of transmission fluid (lubricating agent)
This product is advertised as "octane booster with cleaning agent *and* lubricating agent!". Diesel fuel or kerosene can be substituted for mineral spirits and light turbine oil can be substituted for transmission fluid. Color can be added with petroleum dyes.

The best octane booster that is available right now is Torco. A lot of the blown cars use it to control detonation. It really won't give you more power unless the car is tuned for it.

If you look at the chemical sheet on that product it contains the above stuff. But @ 1/100th the cost.

If I'm going to a track outting and I don't want to think about any KR and the subsequent loss of power, I will either mix race gas or use some Torco. No difference in my ET and MPH.
Contact Joel (JB'sBlownC5)....He is a distributor for the product. He hangs around the forced induction forum alot (for obvious reasons....LOL).

Vet4me, why did you originally ask this question. You aren't going to need octane booster unless your car is knocking something fierce (car will retard timing if it senses knock).

The owners manual says NOT to use any products with "MMT" in it. Not sure if i would use it or not, but i would like to hear if others are using an octane booster and if they can really tell a difference. The one i saw with "MMT" says it will raise it up to 10 point (1.0) so 92 becomes 93 octane. Would one full octane be worth it? Im not sure.

Torco doesn't raise octane by a few points, it raises it by a few numbers A $9.00 Quart of Torco mixed with 10 gallons of 91 octane raises it to 96.5 octane.
MMT can leave a reddish deposit on the spark plugs but I haven't heard any one complain about it. In fact, I haven't heard of any complaints from the users about any problems relating to the use of Torco and some have been using it for a few years.

Torco is the best stuff available, period.....and I've seen it work on a Dyno with EFI live. My blown Vette hasn't ran without it since. It's a no brainer if you're experiencing detonation/KR.
