Default Saggy butt syndrone

How many of you have that nasty saggy butt... or shall I say that deformed area right in front of your mufflers? Is there a cure? and does those parts Ecklers offer really help the problem? Both areas on my FRC are bad and I would really hate to have them replaced unless something can be done. Thanks in advance!

I bought the inserts directly from ACI a month after I took delivery of mine because of all the complaints I'd heard here when I first joined. They snap right in and have worked great for almost 4 years now.

The day I picked her up . . .

. . . and just recently.

American Custom Industries (ACI) makes these fiberglass inserts. They had a fire in their plant a while back but are now back in business. Go to http://www.acivette.com/ , click on their Online Catalog and the C5 section. Then go to the Ground Effects and Accessories section. The inserts are at the bottom of the page.

ACG070 - '97-'04 Rear Bumper Facia Reinforcements (PR)

If exhaust heat has distorted the rear bumper of your C-5, install a pair of ACI's Rear Bumper Reinforcements. Easy to install to correct or prevent distortion.

Do you know what the price is on these? It's not on their website.

The price is listed under "Retail Prices" one of the red tabs on the left side of their web pages. The price is $79.95 a pair

A few folks here actually got GM to reimburse them for these through their dealer due to the fact they didn't have an equivalent fix for the problem.

Thanks for all the info and your time Patches! I'll order them in the morning. This is really appreciated. I wonder if there is a difference between these and the ones from Ecklers? In any case my problem seems to curl up somewhat rather than sag down. Not much but enough to notice. Again THANKS!

My rider side rear does the same. I can't believe that no one has come up with a template, and material, fix for this issue that would enable someone to make their own for about $3.

Clean the inside of the fascia well with denatured alcohol, smear some silicone adhesive on the inserts and snap them in. That's it.
