No....
You have to use it. Leave it in line when you hook it up.

The screwdriver points to the new location of the PCV valve.

But thats not a Z06, the Z06 with the LS-6 engine has the line coming from the valley cover and if I'm not mistaken the PCV valve is internal to the valley cover so he won't have a valve like yours.

That's right, that's not a Z06 motor, at least not a late model one. I have an '04 LS1 coupe and there is NO external PCV valve (it's just like the LS6 setup). Here's some pics of my install:

You sure those lines aren't backwards? I'd think that the return/feed going back into the intake would be at the top of the can. Just asking....

Look at the picture above. EFI-1's setup is EXACTLY the way yours should be done..

Default I have a few questions

I've got a few questions.
Are those cans in the pics above being held in place by the hoses, or is there a bracket I don't see in the pics?
Do the hoses come with the cans or would I need to get them seperately?
Is there a write up anywhere on the install procedures, or do the cans come with good instructions (visual pics help)?
Where is the best place to get a catch can?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

I put mine on the Battery partition. I don't have room on the front of the head because of my blower. I cut the AMW bracket off and used just the top portion to run the mounting screws into on the back side:

It works too. Time to start thinking about forged pistons...

There's a bracket that AMW sells ($25 extra) that lets you mount the can right up to the head. There's holes there for EGR stuff (I think) that the C5 doesn't use. Some say it works better up front near the hood hinges where it is cooler. I may move mine there.

my 2003 z06 has an external pcv. i ran the top line with the pcv to to top of the catch can. the bottom line off the engine is running to the bottom of the catch can. this is what the amw instructions showed. i have not seen pictures like this. is this correct?

Look at AFBombdude's pics. If you have an external PCV I'd think that's how you want to hook it up.
