Hmm.... future plans? Just realized this was a Z, so that's about right.

I'd be so mad to be that close to 400. lol

Maybe because my car has 21,000 miles. They said their dyno is nicknamed the “heartbreaker” because it’s not a happy dyno. Guys at the shop were a little surprised. Most cars in there were around 900 to 1100 hp. Kind of felt out of place with all the big cars around. Guys were great. Here’s one of the 1000ish hp cars...

Gonna install a Torquer V2, springs, rocker reunion upgrade, ATI balancer, push rods, timing set and oil pump this fall.
Probably have better numbers if it was winter time. It’s really hot and humid here right now. But it’s tuned so I’m happy. Gained around 50hp from stock.
Felt good that I did all the work, most cars were getting built for customers. I enjoy working on it just as much as driving it. All new to me, first corvette bought last fall and never worked on them before. First time seeing a dyno too.

lol My buddy's dyno shop is like that. Go to hang out, grill some food, and all his customers with four-digit cars pop up.

WELP.

At least it's fun to watch.

I’d say that would be a blast, just my idea of fun these days. At my mechanics they are all half my age, I manage to get “why In the world would you need that much HP”. They look at me like I have 2 heads, lol

Very cool.

Get the torquer V4. Great cam, and pretty easy to daily drive with minimal low sped surge once you get used to it. Had mine for 7 months/2,500 miles now (ugh, stupid pandemic - ruining my driving time....)

I thought you would be a little over 400. You are never out of place with
car people. Yea, they may have 1,000 but there is someone with more.
You are making it happen, you are in with the performance crowd.
Good luck

390 is standard for header/tune Z, it's making what it should! Once north if 400, start planning for a clutch upgrade too.

Tuner said normally he sees around 345hp stock. Didn’t see any reason to dyno before, I wasn’t concerned enough to pay for a before and after tune. Gonna do a cam soon though. Wife came out the other day while I was taking pics of stuff to sell to fund my new addiction. Sold a winch I wasn’t using, sold a couple of firearms I hadn’t used in years, took all the silver change we had accumulated over about a 15 year period and cashed it out. Told her I was gonna start selling plasma and semen.

At least you know your car is pretty healthy - not a bad number for just a few mods.

Decent numbers for sure. I second the recommendation for the Torquer V4. My car is mostly a track car, but it is still pleasant to drive on the street when I feel like it. With the right combination of mods, you can make great power with the V4!

Spoke with the tuner, owner of the shop as well as Texas Speed and they all said the Torquer V2 would be the cam to get for what I want. I’m not familiar with anything about cams and I’m only going off recommendations and forum searches. What I read about this cam is everyone seems happy with it as a middle of the road all around cam. I want to hear the cam, not looking for the highest dyno numbers, don’t mind a little bucking, power around middle of rpm range, not perfect but ok in light traffic. Weekend car, cruising around and having fun on the street. Car will never see a track, probably do heads later.
I’ll definitely ask about the V4 though.

Reading about the V4 it seems like a good choice also, I’d like to know the what the difference would be driving it. I don’t mind spring changes once in a while to get what I want.

If you pair it with their springs, you won't have to worry about that anyway. The V4 brings power in a little earlier than the V2 from what I was told.
