Best Cam with Stock Heads
I was wondering what the best cam would be to get with a stock 2000 setup? I only drive it once maybe twice a week but i dont want anything too radical. Well maybe a little radical.

If it's an A4, you can't go wrong with a 224 on a 114 LSA.
You'll have to upgrade your valve springs to some that will handle the added lift, like some Comp 918's. They are good to .600 lift. Your stock springs are only good to .525 lift.
To get the full benefit though, you need some LT headers.

If you are not familiar with what parameters you want in a cam, I would suggest calling someone like Phil at DTE (Forum sponsor) and speaking with him. He will custom grind a cam to the specifics of what you are looking for. You need to decide where you want to make power, what you want your peak RPM to be, what kind of idle and around town driving you want, etc. A cam will completely change the way the car runs so care needs to be taken that you know what you are getting into prior to installing, since a mistake is usually expensive to correct.

My car should be done today, but with all the snow on the East Coast, I doubt I'll be able to get her home until Wednesday. I have gotten a G5X3 installed on an 01 Z06 with the pulley's, ported TB, double roller and oil pump, with STOCK HEADS. The car already had a halltech and Kooks LT's. She was putting out about 364rwhp before, so I'll let you know once I get her tomorrow or Wednesday. I have hear up to 420+, but would be happy with anything over 400+rwhp.
We shall see, I'll report back shortly!

I'm running a custom grind 210/230 .550/.560 118LSA and i LOVE it.
Idles like stock and gives me amazing top end. Can't wait to see what she'll do with LT's and heads.

Like the others said you need to know what you want your car to do. I wouldn't recomend one of the big high horse power cams for a street car. The high reving cams tend to be slugish on the low end ( where you drive mostly). Mine only made 347hp but it made 433lbft of torque. and had almost 400lbft through the intire power band. That was with stock heads. That torque will take most all the high horse power cars becouse they don't have the torque to get of the line.
