Remove your L/R tail light housing and reach inside. There are two nuts to remove that are 10mm I think. They are the stamped metal "PAL" type nuts. Try not to drop when removing. HTH

except it's not 10mm... it's either 3/8 or 7/16 (I forget which). I would also strongly suggest using an offset box wrench

...and gripping it as close to the fastener as possible (so you don't break the plastic stud from leverage while removing the metal palnut).

the nuts are 7 mm, i change mine between red and amber now and then and i go in from the bottom without removing anything, but i dont have stock mufflers (Stingers) so there is some room.

I think you are confusing the side markers with the center brake light. I just recently had my side markers out, and I am 100% certain they are not secured with 7mm hardware. The offset ratcheting box wrench that I used was 3/8" on one end and 7/16" on the other. I don't remember which end I used, but both are substantially larger than 7mm.

I also recently replaced my center brake light, and that does require a 7mm socket.

I changed mine to the Euro Amber (yellow) also; However, I just took off the outer rear tail lights to get to the side markers. After disconnected the old lense, pre-screw the nut to the new marker before the final install on the car.

You can reuse the old ones or check your local hardware store.

On C5 convertible to replace rear side marker bulb on quarter panel, first remove two torx screws to remove tail lens to the extreme right. Next remove the two 10mm nuts securing the power antennae. Now you have access to reach side marker, twist bulb socket from light unit, pull out old #194 bulb and press in new bulb. Reassemble.

Take passenger tire off and pull the inner fender liner out. Just a few screws and you get east access to the marker light.
