Default LS2 Timing gears????

About to do a cam on my 99 vette and im doing the timing chain & gears ,I already know the chain will fit the stock LS1 gears but will the LS2 gears fit the old LS1 motor? ditti

have you ck'd the pn's? the crank gear is probably the same, the cam sprocket is different, ls2's read cam position off the gear

I just installed a LS2 chain in my 99', and I only replaced the chain and used the stock gears since the LS2 cam gear is different. I'm not saying it won't work, but there was nothing wrong with the stock gear.

The gears have never been a problem, just the chain.
