99 Right side exhaust
HI folks, I just registered onto the CorvetteForum, sure looks like a great place for Corvette info. I have a simple question (maybe). Can the right side exhaust be removed from a 99 with A4 trans and Z51 suspension (don't know if the Z51 makes a difference) WITHOUT cutting the pipe. I want to retain the stock set intact. A new C5 may coming my way next spring and the new corsa's that I'll install on the 99 will be removed and reinstalled in the new toy. I read the info in the tech section of the forum and says to CUT the pipe. Is this the only way ? What would Chevy do if they needed to replace a stock set ? Hope someone can help. Thanx

Re: 99 Right side exhaust (Cayenne)
You do not have to cut the pipe to remove. You do have to get the rearend of the car about 4 feet off the gound. I have a friend in the alignment business and I backed my car on to his front end machine. Did not have to jack up the car to remove and install my Corsas. :yesnod: :seeya

Re: 99 Right side exhaust (NEED FOR SPEED)
Thanks for the reply. I helped a friend replace the exhaust on a vette with a 6 speed and it was easy, the automatic, however, presents the challange. I can't rotate the pipe/muffler far enough for the flange to clear between the auto/trans and fuel tank.
