Default C5 streering rack ??= C6 steering rack

I am in need of a new steering rack for my 2000 c5 but can't seem to find a good one. I might be able to get the c6 steering rack but i am not sure if it will work. Does anyone know? Or have a c5 rack with low miles

thanks
PS i know the part # is different but they look the same

What symptoms pointed towards the steering rack? Just curious.

I have removed both racks, never noticed any differences other than the C6 is a pita to work with, much tighter than the c5

give Fred Beans a call in the am and ask the question

Default Steering

Try Rancho Recycling in Sacramento. 800/722-6015 and ask for Larry or Francis. They carry only GM performance wrecked cars, have lots of vette parts.

Please, Please if you get a new rack let me buy the rubber bushings from pass side mount?
The darn things can't be bought w/o the rack and I need a set. Oh, and please don't hurt me?
Thanks,
Bruce

You can buy them separately - they cost $18 each from the Stealership. I bought one in January.

I went into my local stealership when I lived in CT and just pointed to the part on their exploded diagram picture on their GM parts computer.

They ordered it and it fit perfectly. I can look up the part number for you tonight.
