I bought a preowned CAI from a board member who had an FRC. When I went to install it on my Z06, I noticed that pretty much nothing fit. The intake was a Vortex, and the filter wouldn't go over the end of MAF, and the other end had a REALLY REALLY hard time going over the air bridge.

My question, is there a difference between c5 CAI's and Z06 CAI's? Probably is, seeings how nothing fit.

There is a difference between 97-00 and 01 and up intakes, including a different, larger MAF, which probably is the root of your problem.

yea, i think i'm going to have to get a different one. Come to think of it, it came off an FRC. i shoulda thought about that. None the less.... CAI forsale... anyone!? lol.

I think the only difference is the front side of the MAF. I had to get the larger opening air filter when I changed to the later model MAF. Everything is fit fine.
