AMSOil doesn't work with oil life sensor?
At the beginning of spring I changed my oil with AMSOil that I got at dealer pricing from a co-worker. However, after resetting the oil life sensor, the oil life percentage didn't go up. It remained at the same level and has been dropping fast, now down to only about 15%.
Has anyone else seen any issues with AMSOil and the oil life sensor?

You didn't reset the monitor correctly. You should be stopped with the key in the run position (The car could be running or not) and hold down the reset button until 100% or 99% is displayed while in the oil life mode. The system does not detect oil type or condition but rather uses an algorithm based on engine revolutions.

Use the RESET button when your oli life % is displayed on the DIC.
The car "computes" the life of the oil based on your driving habits, mileage, etc.
Putting a Spectrophotometer on your car to "see" the oil and test it would more than double the price of your C5.

The monitor doesn't care if you put vegetable oil in it, that is not the way it works.

The car needs to be NOT RUNNING with the key in the ON postion. Then push the gas pedal 3 times to the floor.

Ignition key in the "on" position, but engine NOT running, press the reset and it should go to 99 or 100.
