A/C Blower motor not working. PART 2.
Well I replaced the resistor and the blower motor in my 99. The original motor was rusted on the inside and the pc board on the resistor was actually broken.
Replaced those parts with Delco ones, the new resistor switch was resistors instead of a pc board.and the blower motor was the same.
Well got it all together and nothing works Checked the maxi fuse for the blower, it was good. Any place else tp look?

The red wire in the connector that powers the resistor switch has no power to it. If I jump out that wire to something hot, everything works. Is there another fuse or relay.

Why don't you PM Bill Curlee. he knows alot about the electrical systems in these cars.

You mentioned rust on the blower motor, but you didn't mention the source of the water that caused the rust. Unfortunately this typically happens for one reason. The drain on your HVAC is plugged and water is backing up and flowing into the blower motor. Unfortunately a serious byproduct of this is that water then flows down on the BCM just below it. I would look at the BCM for any evidence of water and water induced corrosion. The BCM controls most of the HVAC functions and can easily be a problem. Regardless you need to address the problem of the water that caused the rust.
If you check Bill's sticky at the top of the page on electrical issues, you'll feel much more comfortable with your cars electrical system.
Good luck... GUSTO

I sent a PM to bill. I don't think it,s a ground issue or a BCM.(no codes).
I think it may be a relay that blew or got messed up from the bad blower motor. As for the water issue, that is another problem to be fixed after this one.

Check the middle relay above the BCM in the passenger side footwell. I just dealt with the same problem in my 99 vert. There are only three of them so it should be easy to find, plus they are clipped on the topside to the dash assembly.

Did you check the Blo Mot Maxi Fuse # 51 (30 amp fuse) in the Instrument Panel Electrical Center? It feeds the red wire.
