Default Z06 windshield

I need to have my '04 Z06 windshield replaced unfortunately. I am concerned that I get the correct windshield in the car, and not just a generic C5 windshield. There is a number on the glass in the lower passenger side of the windshield, "43m-008008."

Is this the Z06 part number so I can verify I have the correct windshield? If not, how can you tell?

I just went through this. Save yourself a lot of time and aggrevation, Call Bob, Fichtner Chevrolet-(406) 628-4121, he got me mine. Part # 10315114. Delivered to the local glass shop of your choice.

Mr. Wendorf is a great help, for sure. So George - I can't remember the weight difference but can Z glass be used in a C5 Vert? What was the cost at Fitchners?

5.9lb difference between windshields. The Z06 and vert use the samee windshields, the coupe uses a different one. Fichtners price, an amazingly low $795.00. Everyone else wanted $1000.00 or better. I'm still waiting, unfortunatly mine was delivered....damaged. WORD OF ADVICE---make sure you order the top seal, as it is not a permanant part of the windshield and needs to be ordered with the windshield. They get bonded together and cannot be reused. The side rails/covers/rubber can be re-used.

Fichtner/DeFelice/Kerbeck, all chevy dealers. Fichtner is a GM direct parts supplier. And the GM part # for the Z/Vert windshield is the same. I just checked GM Direct's website, 670.00 or so, but they do not ship front windshields.
