Default valve spring compressor What did you use?

what is the best one to change the springs and did you use the air to hold the valves from dropping?

I used the TDC method, had a bad experience with air once. The Crane valve spring tool that is sold by Vinci is the only way to go in my opinion.

on the TDC method isn't it hard to get the spring pushed down far enough since the valve will go down some?

I used the dual spring compressor, can do two at a time ( from THunder Racing) and air.
A couple of pistons, I did using TDC to be safe.

Valve will only go down about 1/8-1/4". Just be careful of whacking the valve while its against the top of the piston so you don't bend it.

I used air and the dual tool sold by thunder racing... great product. It went pretty easily.

Only tip I can give is take your time and after you re-assemble the valve/hat/locks give it a few quick taps w/ a rubber mallet to get the valve to seat.

I didn't have to mess w/ rotating the motor at all.

i used the one from harbor frieght. it was 15 bucks... its the best and you will cuss a little by the braided fuel line on the drivers side but it works and its cheap... just remember to have gloves because it will hurt your hands from spining it down to compress the spring
