LS-2 swap in an '01??
Has anyone done this swap or have any info on it? A friend lunched his LS-1 at MSR houston last weekend and we are thinking of a LS-2 swap.
I know the throttle body wiring is different..
And the cam sensor and knock sensor
Is TAC different?
Fuel system?
Will the VCM work with a tune or need to be swapped?
Thanks for any help..
Joe

No real issues. Many come with all you need.
TB conversion cable if using an LS2 TB
Cam sensor extension wire
Knock sensor harness (LS2 valley cover is obviously different)
You may have to grind a small piece off the block on the passenger side to first the motor mount.
No VCM change needed. Just need a tune.
I've either drilled/tapped the hole on the bottom sides of the LS2 for the Knock Sensors (10x1.5) or just screwed them into the extra holes near the motor mounts if headers are in the way. Be careful of the wire routing not to be near the exhaust of course.

Assume you have to drop the cradle a bit to get clearance?
My first C-5 engine swap I did (before I knew much about C-5s) I dropped it out the bottom per the GM manual...
Thanks
