Default APS C5 twin turbo - 640 whp at 9 PSI

Hi Guys, Just a quick update on the C5 twin turbo system. Our head tech just dyno tested the twin intercooled twin turbo system with high flow rear mufflers (APS developed rear mufflers which will be released in early 07) and after a little tweaking on the engine tune the stock ZO6 engine produced 640 rwhp and 622 rwtq at just 9 PSI boost on 93 octane fuel. Now I'm not entirely sure how durable the stock ZO6 engine will be at this power/boost level though it certainly shows that there's plenty of power potential in the little 346 cube engine, enjoy!

Stock Power and Torque vs APS C5 twin turbo Power and Torque.

APS C5 twin turbo system power vs boost pressure.

Running approx 11.2 AFR at peak torque (4800 rpm) sloping up to 11.8 AFR at peak power (6000 rpm).

Default So How Much?

Peter,
I have been folowing your R and D on this forum and LS1 tech. Still have not seen a final price. Do you have one yet? Those are great numbers. But as even you state durability is questionable. The stock bottom end probably won't last. Congrats

There’s another thread running in the C5 FI section.

Quote:

All of the parts that are required for the twin intercoled twin turbo install are supplied in the twin turbo system, right down to every last nut, washer and bolt, MSRP $7995. All you need to add to the deal is the fuel system of your choice. The fuel system parts required will vary from just a basic set of 60 lb injectors and a boost a pump, cost approx $750, that will support around 600 whp.

If you planning on a big HP built forged engine with good heads and turbo cam then the expense of the fuel system will certainly increase, most likely between $1500 to $2000 for a very comprehensive high flow fuel supply system.

The homework was definetly done on this kit making 640hp at 9psi. I don't know a lot about turbos and I was wondering if there was a big difference in spool time between this kit and the TTIX ball bearing kit. Not wanting to start a who is better discussion, just would like to know if there is a difference. Once again great job on the numbers.
