Engine upgrade 97 LS1 to 2001 z06
Suggestions, experience with change over
I have 97 C-5. I have accquired a 2001 Z06 block and heads with 30k on the engine.
so far i will need
intake, oil pan (will the 97 pan fit?), new injectors (will I need to change the fuel pump?), coil packs, valve covers
will the Z06 bolt up top the 97 bellhousing?
Cannot use my B&B shorty headers will be going to long tube
will be doing cam upgrade
What wiring and /or computer changes will be needed?
What am i missing?

you may have an issue with the knock sensors and/or harness, just use the '97's KS's if there is an issue
you'll need the coil pack brackets, be careful to note the coil pack harness markings, 1,3,5,7/2,4,6,8; they are both the same but need to be in the correct order fwd/aft
you'll also need to use the newer LS6 pcv tubes/hoses, just omit the existing valve cover tubing and route the 'loop' from the valley cover into the intake
you could convert the to the newer maf w/ the iat inside, but gains may not be worth it
I have zero experience trying to convert to the newer pcm, too much work

does you ls6 have valve covers???
because your 97 heads use different valve covers than 2001.
and you will need coil brackets
coils will work
oil pan works
all your sensors will swap over(would probably get new knock sensors though
your intake will work but you may want to think about going with a ls6 intake
injectors will work same with fuel pump unless you are having problems with your current parts on your 97
