(SAE) tests prove the PureONE oil filter is #1 among ALL leading brands when it comes to protecting your car's engine against potentially damaging contaminants

For a great deal on Napa Gold/Wix filters, check out www.fleetfilter.com the Vette golds from them are round $3.50 a piece. They carry the complete Napa/Wix filter line, great service, quick shipping, giveaway prices.

I use Mobil One oil filters from Auto Zone. Anyone know how these compare to others? Thanks, David

Mobil 1 filters filter well, they don't flow as well as some others. Their claim to fame (and it is of quesionable value to me) is that the case is thicker and will hold up to 3 times the pressure of other filters. This must be true as the filter is much heavier than other filters. They are more expensive than other filters.

Who has ever heard of an oil filter (that was not defective) rupturing ?

I have used Mobil 1 filters on my other cars. I have one for my C5, but I have never used it.

I've used them for several years in a 1998 Blazer. And I've been using them in my C5's. I don't mind the cost, but I want the best. Thanks, David

Are these two totally different filters or just different part numbers for each brand?

AMSOIL and Wix partnered a few years ago and in conjunction with Donaldson developed the new line of AMSOIL Ea Oil Filters. As a result, Wix filters can now be bought via AMSOIL (ordering info in my sig). Wix filter for the C5 is 51042.

Oil flow goes from pump pickup tube to the pump then to the oil filter. Then it goes to the main galley that feeds the cam bearings and rod bearings. The pressure sender is tapped into a feed at the head of this galley. It's right behind the intake manifold. Then it drains to the oil pan for another cycle.

Default Napa Filters

HEY GUYS,

WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR THE NAPA FILTERS? I CAN GET THEM FOR AROUND $6.99 EACH, DEPENDING ON APPLICATION, IF ANYONE IS INTRESTED.

THANKS

Interesting site on oil filter construction:

http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html

If you are using the Pure One filters you may want to look at the MotorCraft filters to save yourself some money.
