Default Thin/slimline wrenches.. where can I buy them?

I broke one of the exhaust manifold-to-Hpipe studs. I need a thin/slimline wrench to get it off. You can't get a normal-sized craftsman 15mm wrench in the space. Anybody know another brand (other than snap-on) that carries such a thing? Snap-on has them, but I need to get one locally (ie, today).
Thanks

And if you're wondering exactly what I mean by "thin/slimline", I'm referring to the "D" dimension in this pic:

Most of the time they are from the catalog only. You of course have Matco, SnapOn and so on.

Last hope is to buy a "cheapee" 15mm wrench open end & grind it down.

This must mean that the H-pipe is still in-place and you can't get a socket on it? I don't quite understand.

No, the H-pipe is not on the car. You'd have to look at the stud to understand. Basically it has a stopper nut that is part of the stud that keeps it from going too far into the exhaust manifold threads. The stopper nut has a lip on it that is bigger than the nut itself. the lip keeps you from getting a thick wrench on it.

Sorry, I just had the head of the nut "flipped" around in my mind. I just dropped the whole shebang a couple of weeks ago to replace my rear tranny seal.

I'd take a small air grinder or Dremel and take the flange off the stud nut if there are no other options. I'm assuming it's the "upper" stud closest to the oil pan.

I got the small wrenches from a Husky kit at Home Depot. Use them for exactly what you are doing.

Another idea, look up your local snap on tool dealer and call him, more then likely he has his cell phone on to receicve calls from mechanics who need a tool right away. Ask him where he is at and meet him somewhere on his route. I did this once at it worked out great.

Good Luck

I did this as well a while back with two broken studs (one on each side). I was actually able to use Vice-Grips on mine and get them out... yes... it surprised me too.

I also have the thin Snap-On wrenches and frankly they only went around the nut. The nuts were just too corroded to hold up to anything but a good line wrench and since I was replacing all of the studs and nuts anyway, I just used the Vice-Grips.

Good luck... GUSTO
