Default 04 z06 shocks vs c6 z06 shocks for autocross

Has anyone compared the 04 z06 shocks to the c6 z06 shocks for autocross or road racing? I have an 03 Z06 that i was going to change to the 04 Z06 shocks for autocross until I saw the c6 Z06 shocks, now I'm not sure which to buy. I don't care about ride quality.

I have the same question....except I have a little concern about ride quality, I really just want to know which would be the better all around shock, I figure both are better than the 03 Z shocks.

This topic has been discussed a thousand times. Go for the C6 Z06 shocks. I've had both and can not tell the difference. Use your old bushings with a couple of washers on the top. You will gain a little travel if you do this.

I read in Car and Driver or Motor Trend that the 2007 zo6 shocks are better than the 2006. They said the shock in the 07 are not as stiff.

I would wait for some real street opinions before making any decision on which is better for the average street driver.

I have run both 04 z06 shocks and 06 z06 shocks. I really could not tell the difference on and off the track between the 2. Then it just comes down to money and the 06 ones are a lot cheaper.

BTW - right now I am running coilovers and to be honest they are not too bad on the street.

If you are going to be autocrossing, I would get a set of Koni single adjustables at least. They will probably be cheaper than a new set of C6 Z06 shocks. Good thing about adjustable shocks, is that you can soften them up to almost stock and have a nice ride home. But can stiffen them for an autocross, depending on your style of driving.

www.shox.com is a good place for koni pricing

I'd like to know where Car and Driver and Motor Trend got these shocks. There is no such thing as 07 Z shocks. The 06's and 07's are the same.
