Default Please Help New Vette Owner, Creaking Front End

I Have A 2000 C5, With 32k On It. Theres A Loud Creaking Noise Coming From The Front Suspension. If You Open The Hood And Push Up And Down On The Passenger Side Coolant Tank To Make The Car Bounce ....its Loud. I Have Used White Grease On The Bushings And It Helped For About 3-4 Weeks, Now Its Back And Loud. How Can I Fix This Problem With Out Having To Grease The Bushings Every Couple Of Weeks??? We Went As Far As Loosening Some Of The Bolts To Get The Grase In Real Good...any Advice Would Help, Im About To Replace All The Front Bushings With Stock Rubber Ones, And Going To Put New Control Arms On Also.

If you think it is the sway bar bussing you can replace them with polyurethane ones.

Same problem here........discovered it was a shock. Not leaking but squeeks particularly over speed bumps.

Did you put stock bushings back in or polyurethane? The poly bushings usually don't squeak. Loosen the bolts that hold the bushings and push up and down on the car to make sure it's the swaybars and not something else.

Some people have taken the stock bushings and cut about 6 slits in them, parallel to the bar, in an effort to give the grease somewhere to go. You might try that since you have a couple extra sets laying around.

Yep, great idea. I did that also before I got it narrowed down to a shock
