Any benefit to runnig ported 241 heads over ported 243 heads?
I was looking at having my stock heads ported and was wondering if there is any benefit to running the ported 241's over the ported 243's besides cost.

Ported 241 heads are somewhat better then stock, but not much no as good as stock 243 heads.
There are some very good at reasonable price pp 243 heads.

I tried, and not by much, and it was not worth the time and money spent porting them.
Lots of F body guys swear by PP LS1 Heads, but as soon as they put on some Stock 243 heads, they toss the LS1 heads. ( and lots of them also love the old LS1 block and not the LS6 block with far better cooling and oiling capablities. )
The price of some pp 243 heads, with light wt valves and stock LS6 springs is low enough that the PP Ls1 heads are not worth the time nor effort. ( trick Flow or TSPs )
If your putting on new heads, time for a cam, under drive pulley and anything else
Some basic IIRC info:
241 heads ( same as 853s) were used on 01 to 04 LS1 engines
The 243 head is the 01+ LS6/LS2 head.
The 241 head has a smaller 64.45cc chamber for more compression (10.5 CR on LS6), 210cc intake runners, and 75cc D-shaped exhaust ports.
All three came with 2.00" intake valves, and 1.55" exhaust valves.
Of the three, the 243 (Z06) head is the most desirable for flow, and is the most popular base for further porting/modifying. Not many people mess with porting LS1 heads anymore.

I wasn't planning on trying it myself. There's a pro within driving distance of me and his rates are pretty reasonable. I wanted someone who knows what he's doing to get the job done. Does this make a difference?

Save your money to buy some PP LS6 heads. You will be much happier in the long run.
* I have some PP LS6 SWGT 243s from Lingfleter for this winter mod season. Still looking at several cams to change with the new heads.
