No, bolted mine right in. There were some Z06's that had out of balance clutches from the factory that required match balancing from what I have read though.

not a factor if im buying a clutch and a flywheel from tex right?
Cobra4b ran into balancing issues, not sure if he is running a Tex though. ECS (when I spoke to them) never balances them, they install out of the box. Although I did mark my stocker before removal just in case.

im curious, what are you marking on the stocker, if you are installing all new parts?

Before removal, I marked all the bolts and their positions and then the flywheel to pressure plate. That way, if I ran into a balance problem I could re-construct the factory setup. Probably went too far in marking things, but once its apart you may have a hard time figuring out how it was originally assembled. I did this only as a precaution based on some of the balancing issues I have seen here.
Sry to jack but who sells these clutchs for the best price?
ECS gave me a good price when I was shopping, unfortunately they couldn't meet my time requirements when I bought mine (I think they were out of the country at the time or something). I would give them a shout. They were within $15 of the best price I had gotten elsewhere.

Are you going with the X-Grip or the Z-Grip?
i am going to do the Z grip. it seems to be the same clutch as the X, but cabonmetalic on both sides and hold more...I wanted to do the exo-skul, but i heard its not the friendliest clutch for the street. plus mine is a DD as well.
I did a clutch on a c5 about 2 months ago. the flywheel had pins in it to line it up, so there was only one way it was going on..never had to mark anything. did you have the little dowel pins?
