Default Oil Pan Removal

I want to remove my oil pan and weld a fitting for the supercharger drain. If you support the motor can you lower the cradle enough to get oil pan out?

Yes, but you'll have to drop the whole cradle.. You'll have to remove the upper A-arm bolts, sway bar bracket bolts, lower motor mount nuts, and lower shock mount bolts..
It should only take you about 10-15 extra minutes..

Have not done it my self but surfing this forum and reading the service manual have come across that you have to remove the front cross member, so that would require safely supporting the engine. Not sure if just lowering it will give you the clearance you need or access to the pan. Some body will chime in that has done it

Have you ruled out drilling and tapping while using plenty of axle grease on the bits to catch any shavings? Seems like that can be a viable option if you go at it slowly and take your time.

AND then use a couple of quarts of cheap oil to flush it out.

you have the winged oil pan.
the bottom part can separate from the top that bolts to the block.
you can take off the bottom plate and drill and tap in one of the wings.
and you wont have to worry about flushing the oil, cause the shavings will just fall on the ground. or in your eyes if your ignorant. lol.

i just pulled my pan off yesterday. it involved raising the engine and lowering the cradle a few inches for the pan to clear the oil pickup line that snakes in front of the engine. major pain in the a**.
HPS MASTER TECH has a good idea to drop the lower cover and drill/tap the wing. make sure to drill square to the surface you are wanting to tap.
