let me help you
Run flats will never help you EVER [edit] don't take me so serious [/edit]
Will you ever drive on a flat tire? You will be calling the flat bed no matter what. So id suggest ditch the run flats and enjoy a better tire.
Go with the F1's or Gs3's 295 35 rear 275 40 front on stock rims

I have them and I like them a lot. very sticky can get a 1.9 60' with them. good wet traction too. can't speak for wear only 4000 mi on them but seems to be holding up well.

Oh I have to disagree big time! I have been out on the highway and have the low pressure warning light come on followed by the drive with reduced speed warning. I had a large fence staple in my tire and ended up driving the car home, which was about 20 miles away. If I had had regular tires I would have been on a road with barricades on both sides with no way of exiting for about 3 miles, the whole time in busy traffic. I have also had my one of my tires go flat due to a nail while away on a trip and was able to drive the car to a place to get the tire replaced. Another time while driving in OKC I drove over a damn exhaust that was in the road. During my lunch break I simply drove the car to a Discount tire and had a new tire put on. And since my wife often drives the car, I don't want her to be on one of Dallas' busy freeways during rush our traffic with a flat. Believe me, if you are going to be following someone on the highway, you want me to be in front of you. Every nail, screw on the road will find it's way into one of my tires.

C5 Hobo replaced his stock RF's with Kumho Ecsta MX non FR and loved them. When it came time to replace those due to inavailability of the non RF he tried the MX RF tires.. he is disappointed with them...
They ride more like and sound more like the GoodYear RF
PM him for an update.

I bought a set this Spring for my '97, and I am totally happy with them. They ride better than the GY OEM tires, and they are a bit quieter. I did quite a bit of research before buying them, and most people who have them seem very happy, and I found no big complaints. Just my $.02.

Not having a spare tire is why I never go on anymore really long trips from home (after 1 sidewall puncture and 2 unfixable with tire kit punctures left me stranded in the Z06). I still wont purchase run flats as they aren't in the sizes I want.
I am now buying a GTO spare skinny that easily fits in the trunk and a small scissor jack..

Seriously tho you find shops that have vette tires in stock?

Yeah, most of the time they will ship one over from one of the other stores. I have had really good luck with Tire Rack though. They really honor their Road Hazard claims. They overnighted me a tire one time. I have been lucky about getting the tires in but really unlucky about finding nails and crap in the road.

I have heard good things about the Kumhos. I don't think you will have any worries with them, and they are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
Unless you race your Vette, you are best served sticking with run-flats.

Not all run flats run flat alike.

I like my run flats. People may say things about driver error, but no matter how careful you are, you can not avoid every little thing in the road. I can see the disadvantages if you are racing the car, but since mine is my daily driver, there will always be a set on there.

1. Looks, they look like they belong on a Cadillac and not a Vette
2. You don't save much over the cost of OEM, yet they are not as readily available as OEMs and don't run flat as far or with the same handling while flat as the OEMs
3. They are made by the French
Enjoy
