LS2 water pump in my 99 ls1, possible?
A buddy of mine said that i can run a ls2 water pump in my 99 corvette, as long as it is of a ls2 corvette water pump. mine is leaking from the weep hole, and I already bought a 160deg thermostat for my ls1, I heard it weights less and flows more water. True?

Yes it will fit fine. Thermostats are different though. Return the LS1 thermostat you have (which includes the housing) and buy an LS2 160 thermostat (if that's the temp you want).

So i cannot run the ls2 water pump of a GTO, it has to be of a ls2 corvette? is that true? or any ls2 water pump will work? I don't know if the pulley arrangement is the same on both cars

Does not have to be Vette specific. LS2 is LS2. The "pulley" of which you speak is really an idler under which the belt runs. No grooves, etc.
