Exide Orbital Battery Charging Recommendations
Just purchased a CTEK 3300 battery charger, which will operate in one of three modes. I have an Exide Orbital battery installed. Which mode should I use to maintain the battery over the winter months? Also, any good ideas on a location for grounding the negative clip?
Mode 14.4V/3.3A - Normal setting for wet batteries, maintenance-free and most gel batteries.
Mode 14.7V/3.3A - Recommended for many AGM batteries (Exide not listed in the owner's manual)
I appreciate any informed input.

I had a Exide Orbital battery, it lasted 5 years, I used a battery maintainer.
Your battery is an AGM, so you should use that cycle.
I am not familiar with that charger. Does it have a float, maintainer setting ? If so and you use this all the time (not just to charge a low battery), you should use this setting. 1 amp is the usual setting for maintaining a charge on an AGM battery.
I use a battery maintainer from Wallmart, it has a 1 amp or 2 amp settings, and cost $18.
One thing you should know about an AGM battery. Unless it is a deep cycle (Optima Yellow Top), if you completely discharge it, you lose a little life. Five discharge cycles can kill the battery and one DEEP discharge may also kill it.

Drifting
for a month or a long winter storage.............
Like Oldvetter , I also put all of my stored vehicle batteries on low amp Battery Tenders, whether they are AGM or wet acid batteries with no problems . Harbor Freight has a very good 1 amp floating trickler charger for $7.00

Additionally,
http://www.exide.com/pdf/exide_specs_april_2003.pdf
clearly lists exide orbital as an AGM.
No mystery here...
