abs Traction Control/engine power loss.. Help Please.
Hello all i have an 98 c5 automatic with 76,000. I was driving to work this morning and i stopped at a light and upon pulling off my engine power was decreased and i couldnt go over 20 mph. Service traction Control was displayed also. I took it to a local corvette shop and the following codes came up P1518 and C1278. He cleared the codes and I told him I would post it on the forums and see what I got. He is also making some calls. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

I havent looked up the codes but if you pull them again look into absfixer. You may have to send them your PCM. I've pulled those codes before.... cleared them... and they've never come back. Hope your as lucky as me.

Thread is 4-years old?? But post your DTC codes and someone can help.
Also helps to know your model as fixes to traction control problems on 97-00 models differ from 01-04 models.

My car is a 98. Took it to a mechanic that I totally trust and they said it is the throttle body that is causing the problem.

I agree, it's the throttle body. If you replace it with a higher flow tb, you will need a tune. I was told that the PCM would adapt after 200 miles of driving but it never did.
