BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW-2
I'm currently looking for new tires and I have come across these BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW-2. I have asked numerous people if they know anything about them and seem to keep getting the same answer, nope, never heard of them. The tires have a real gnarly looking tread pattern, but, are they worth a crap. Anyone have any experience with these tires?

I have seen a few people use the KDW 2's, I dont have personal experience with them.

I have these tires on my 01 Z right now. These are in my opinion the worst tire you can buy. These have no traction in a straight line or around turns. My Acura TL can probably out corner my Z becuase these tires just slide right out. And they have about 6,000 miles on them, so they still have plenty of tread.
There are much better tires out there for the money.

realy? ive seen good reviews from other people and have seen nurmous vettes run this tire. my friend has them on his 04 Bonivelle GXP size 255/45/ZR18 and they handle really well. yea they coast a lot, $900 for his i think from tirerack, but they were worth the money. This is his daily driver but plans to upgrade his C5 to the same tire. In the dry heat, you can feel the the car just hug the corners and they handle espicaly well in the rain. Stright line, perfomance is well and the tires grip right away. I know this isn't a vette but he drives it like it was. I've personaly driven the car and these tires just grip. They lasted 23,000 some miles before he had to replace them. If they were bad he wouldnt be on his second set of G-forces.

I have a set, I would not purchase again. Lots of tread noise, grip is not bad considering the 300 wear rating. I had initial problems with the fronts which in the end required me to call the manufacturer & finally had them replaced. I was out pocket a lot of dollars visiting various tire shops in attempt to balance.

These are the first bad things I've herd about the KDWs. I was considering buying these next. I am very limited in what I can use 10.5" fims in the front and 11.5" in the rear. There are only a few Manf. who make a 335/30X18 for the rear. I am currently running Pilot sports. They service life is short for the price they cost, they wear out fast and that's with out burn outs. $1804. that includes getting them on line and then having them mounted and ballanced at a local shop. My main complaint with the pilot sports is the wear and they are screw magnets.

I have had these on my car since last summer and I'm still loving them. Great grip and I have used them on the road track as well. I don't put a lot of miles on them, but they still are pretty meaty after a summer of road course duty.

Get the regular KD, not KDW or KDW-2
The regular KD are a great sticky street tire. Much better than My GS-D3 Good Years.
The best for traction would be drag radials like the BFG DR or Nittos. But for a street tire, the KDs are stickier than Goodyear F1 or GS-D3, or the Michelin Pilot Sports. Between my father and I we have tried all 3, and the KDs are the best.
The KDW are engineered with rain driving in mind, so their performance suffers. You should not even bother driving aggressively in the rain, that is dumb IMO.

Burning Brakes
I have them on my 2001 MN6 vert and love 'em. Great dry trackion. My car has only been in the rain once when I was caught on the highway and I played around to test wet traction and it was superb.

To the gentleman who posted this thread. If you would like a nice set that is used(6000 miles), I will gladly take them off my car and sell them to you. I am in the market for a new tire.
I guess it's a personal preference, I just simply don't like them.
Thanks

I just got them a few months ago....So far I love them (only have about 1,000 km's on em)
Awesome wet traction, and dry as well, and as a bonus they look sweet.
