LED Hvac
finished my led conversion on the dual hvac ,dic and radio ...pluged in the hvac and the lights dont work...unit works ok but no background light and it also does not control the passenger side temp....so i go out and buy another one from the popular auction site plug that one in and same thing no lights and no passenger side control all else is ok...could this have anything to do with my seats being out of the car(getting reskinned)....had some codes but cleared them or could it be a fuse???all the other light are ok dic works fine radio is okay shifter also is okay...any ideas,also tested the led before i closed up the hvac and they are all okay....

i just did this. did you use resistors on the LED/bulb replcement circuit. the white buls taken out are rated at 12v bit the LED is rated at 4v. i put a resistor in line witn the number 5&6 or maybe 6&7 white wires on the connector. count from the black wire.

yes used resitors or the bulbs would of blown.......the bulbs all work when i test the circuit

check the connections for bent pins or possiblely disconnected something inside the the HVAC control. sound like a something might be grounded that shouldn't be. the seat control is just a bunch of switches that control motors. check that for damage also.

no bent pins and had the same results with the second hvac i bought...as for the seat control you would be really surprised on systems that dont work when the seats are out...did you know your telescopic steering wont work if your seat in out of the car...im hoping that the problem with the passenger side hvac control

That's mighty strange... your "new" HVAC lights bench tested OK? If both HVAC units are doing the same thing then it's external to the HVAC I would think.
