Don't use Royal Purple for the transmission. You have paper blocker rings in your 2000, you need friendly synthetic oil. Ammsoil ATF or ATD is okay.

Also, I have heard that some early C5s (that did NOT come with synthetic differential fluid) make noise (whinning) when changed to synthetic. Several owners had to go back to regular oil to stop noise. BTW, make sure you add friction modifier to rear if your oil doesn't include it. Royal purple does include it.

You need 4 quarts of Dextron III ATF for transmission (you won't use all) and 2 quarts of 75W-90 for rear end.

Does not matter, GM didn't change from paper blocker rings to carbon fiber until 2001.
