Default NGK TR55 Spark Plugs, Leave the gap?

Are the folks using these leaving the .55 gap?

Thanks.

Perhaps you should dig a little deeper:

By the way, the car is a 02 Z06 with Long Tube headers and Halltech air intake. From searching it appears most use the .55 gap, but wanted to double check.

This is what I DUG UP! http://www.acdelcotechconnect.com/pd..._03D-J-171.pdf

and if you read a little better I stated: "I think there recommending"

You ask ten different people you'll get ten different answers....the tuner that ur taking ur car to told me to gap mine at .035 so if you ask him you may get another opinion.
thats why there's a search option...

A TR55 is designed for a .059 gap, and the TR5 is designed for a .039 gap.

My point was, it depends on the application and mods. If you went to the link I posted, you'll see NGK is not recommending just .044. The TSB you posted is just fine for a bone stock car.

That AC Delco bulletin is for an IRIDIUM spark plug ... different animal from the copper NGK55 ... but, your first post was correct ... the NGK site specifies a 0.044 gap for the TR55 in a Corvette 5.7 liter engine.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Well after searching all the vette forums and LS1tech.com web sites it sounds like a .055-.060 gap on the TR55 is safe so that is what I will aim for.

Thanks.

Why don't you see what NGK recommends for the gap ... instead of a bunch of folks who have an unknown level of technical expertise to lend to the subject ....

NGK recommends 0.044 why would you NOT go with that ????

it's going to depend on the specific model of LSx and the mods done to the motor. we went into this pretty heavily a while back, as I was asking the same questions...

Agreed, but member Russ K appears to know his stuff. Furthermore, I searched all over the web and I can't find anyone running a .044 gap with the NGK TR55 plugs.

Thanks.
