Default Throwout bearing question

Should the throwout bearing be spinning at all with the clutch out in neutral?

yes, in our cars the throwout bearing lightly contacts the clutch at all times, thus spinning. It does not matter which gear it is in. When you push in the clutch the slave exerts force onto the TO bearing and dis-engaging the clutch.

The throw out bearing is sprung loaded against the pressure plate fingers, so yes it will be constantly spinning.

Easiest way to check it is to open the inspection cover (bottom part of bell housing).

Thanks for the replies. Mine is, just making sure it was normal. I am troubleshooting a metal on metal grinding noise with the clutch in, making sure the throwout didn't self-destruct by constantly spinning. I guess I'll look at something else.
