My LH mirror looked strange the other day so I took a closer look and it looked as if was 3/4 full of a tinted fluid. Curious as to how much a replacement glass will cost or can I go ahead and separate the front pane and leave it be. I know if I do that then the auto dimming feature will be gone but I don't care. I found a thread on here where someone else experienced this but I didn't see what he did to fix it.

Anyone else have this happen and what did you do?

A new auto dim glass asm from dealer is about $225. I bought the whole mirror asm from a junk yard, snapped the glass out carefully, then replaced the smoked one.
You can just buy a non auto dim glass, peel and stick kind. Just do some searching on the net you will find them.
