AC compressor oil leak
My son has a 97 and the ac compressor is leaking oil from the o-rings of the compressor sections.
I also have 2 other delphi compressors on other cars that the compressors are leaking.
Has anyone tried tightening the bolts on the compressor and adding sealer and oil?
I do all my ac work but I don't have the time to do a compressor change on 3 vehicles.
PS I think winter storage is killing these compressors.
Thanks
Steve

I've seen a lot of late model GM's with leaks at the comp seals. I've tried tightening the bolts w/o success.
Sorry to be the "prophet of doom" but you might be luckier than I. Most people are.

Sealer won't work
Hi, sorry to say sealers won't work on seals. There is a sealer that works on tiny pin holes in evaporator cores, if used right, it cost about 140.00 a can, and is a 2 part system, but even it won't cure a leaking comp seal. The cheap stuff like Maxiseal won't touch it.

My a/c quit. I had not driven the car in two months, but when I started it up the a/c would not come on.
Took it to a shop who put in 2 pounds of refrigerant and checked for leaks. I assume it is some type of sniffer device. I was told I had a leak in my evaporator, and they recommended a shop that specializes in Corvette's. But then I spotted the previous post on this forum and thought $140 for a sealer might be cost effective.
Can anyone tell me where to get the product or is it a shop install thing?
