if it comes and goes it won't hurt anything. The next time it comes on pull codes and post them so we can see what's going on. If you don't know how to pull codes do a search. If you don't know how to do that let us know.

You need to check the codes to determine how serious they are.
A current code will have a "C" and a history code will have an "H". You can use search or search this forum (in the red banner) in C5 Tech, using the code(s) you find, to help determine what they are.
A code can be set for not tightening your gas cap or forgetting to reset you oil life monitor to zero after an oil change.

Thanks. I did reset after recent oil change and also re-did the gas cap after reading the owners manual. Actually have run several tanks of gas. 2000 MN6, 33,000 miles and it is the very first time anything other normal has happened. What a great car.

The corvette is a great machine but it does have flukes like this. Some come and go most are electrical/voltage originated. Simply not securing the gas cap can even set off the cel. Pull the codes it is important to do every so often. Your car is fine to drive it will tell you if it is serious. Grounds and battery condition/connections are common sources of the C5 flukes. What a great car. Congrats on the find with low miles..Enjoy
