Default AC Low side schrader valve

I hear the low side ac schrader valve leaking when the cap is taken off. I assume this is not normal. Can the schrader valve be replaced? How? Where do you buy the valve? Thanks, Adam.

Hi, yes you can replace the valve, but you would have to evacuate the system or at very least loose some refrigerant to do it on the fly, which would be difficult. You can buy replacement valves at auto parts stores. try tightening it first, they don't usually go bad, just get loose. It uses the same type stem as a tire, but with a neoprene seal. If you have an old tire stem tightener you can use it to tighten it.
Good Luck
