Current radio unlock code?
I need the current code to enter for the GM radio unlock of the radio. Via these instructions:
https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=164&TopicID=1
The 6 digit code provided in this write up, to enter then the # symbol must be outdated. It just says invalid code.
Thank you for any help.

If you catch the service writer at a good time, they call a 1-800 number and get the code from GM. They'll need your VIN, so drive your car in or take your registration.
Then you can unlock the radio and/or enter your personal PIN for future use...

Try:
The following procedure will give you a new code that you can use instead of your personal code. Using this new code, you can “unlock” your radio and then “re-lock” it with a new code if you wish.
Prerequisites: The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode. Let me explain. If you have activated the Theft-Deterrent feature of your radio and loose power, the radio goes into LOC (theftlock) mode. With the ignition on, you must use the MN and HR buttons to enter you personal code in order to unlock it (The instructions are on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual).
If you fail to enter the correct code eight (8) times, the radio goes into INOP mode. You have to wait an hour with the ignition on before the radio returns to LOC mode (go for a long drive somewhere). Procedure:
01. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
02. Hold down the Radio Presets 2 and 3 buttons for six seconds
03. The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number. Write this number down. Don’t take forever, fifteen seconds max before the next step.
04. Press the AM/FM button
05. The radio display changes to another three-digit number. Write this number to the right of the first one.
06. You now have a six-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 03 and the last three digits are form STEP 05
07. Call 1 800 537 5140
08. Press 1 then # (pound). You’ll hear “Invalid Code, try again”
09. Press 139010 then # (pound). You will be asked to enter your four or six digit code followed by * (start)
10. Enter the number from STEP 6 then * (star)
11. Listen to the four-digit number and write it down. It will be repeated twice
12. Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC)
13. Use the MN and HR buttons to enter the code from STEP 11
14. Press the AM/FM button. The radio display changes to SEC Your radio is now “un-locked” and usable.
The Theft-Deterrent feature is STILL active! If you want to disable it, use the instruction on page 3-27 in your Y2K Owner’s manual. Use the code from STEP 11 instead of your personal code.

Guys, I appreciate the help, but what you posted is from the FAQ's page which I posted the link to in the original post. That 139010 code is not current.

I just bought a 1998 C5 tonight, and this saved me waiting for the Ford dealer I bought it from, to get the code from the Chevy dealer. The Chevy dealer had just done work on it (fuel related) and disconnected the battery and didn't re-activate the radio.
I used the "206053" above and the Stereo popped right up like a champ afterwards.
Thanks!
Jason

6 Digit Unlock Code provided by GM instead of 4 digit??
Hey all,
I had to replace my battery and now have the same issue with "LOC" on radio on my 2001 C5 convertible.
I have followed all the advice: retrieved my 6 digit code from radio to call the 800-537-5140 number to retrieve my unlock code.
The automated system gave me a six digit number, not a four digit number. Using HR and MN buttons, can only enter a four digit number!!
Assuming I heard wrong, called number again and received same six digit code. Broke down and sent $12 to radio-code.com, along with the six digit code from the radio. They also sent me a six digit unlock code that is the same as the one I received from the GM # above.
How do I enter a six digit code to unlock the radio ????? I have tried everything I know!!
Any Help will be much appreciated!!

Everybody on this thread, please accept my apologies !!! I went over again and again the process I went through.... Then I stepped back and said let me do it again. Repeated the process to get my code off radio while in LOC mode to obtain 6 digit number to get unlock code... I made a mistake... The first 3 digits I got ( 622 ) I placed in last positions & the second 3 digits I got ( 629 ) I placed in first position, resulting in 629622, which resulted in me getting six digit unlock code of 140760... I finally decided to go through process again... This time I did correctly and put first 3 digits in correct order and 2nd three digits behind it, giving me 622629. Called GM automated line and got four digit code: 0689 that worked perfectly !!! Radio now unlocked and working... Really hope I did not waste anyones time too bad !!!
Thanks
Thanks
