When I installed my TRIC and Cobra (now called the Magic or something like that) my car really, really made this awesome baritone
"WAAAAHHHH" sound. Then I added the exhaust and I haven't heard the intake since

The Vortex made a noticable difference in the exhaust note on my car, but not nearly as much as the headers.

Dustin,
I can confirm, that LS1's sound changed definetely after installing of the only true RamAir Cold Air Induction System => MTI RamAir. Passing through 2'500rpm.....3'000rpm, you would not miss that sorta BIG and MEAN BREATHING sound. It is awesome but definetely not boring, but supplies you the ideal music scenario while chasing over some lonely backstage roads. There is also some chance you may hear your LS1 yelling to you: "....Thankx Dustin, now I can really BREEEEEEEEAAATH.....give me the Pedal........"
Want to learn more, check MTI, their site: http://www.motorsporttech.com/
click the C5 picture on main page........click Air Intake Components.
MTI's system covers M/Y 1997-2000. For M/Y 2001-..... they supply you a supplementary hose for the larger MAFS. The final fit into your ride is a nice weekend job and an great joy to do. No cutting, no worries at all and definetely no chance for misfit or other strange issues. The installed set looks real "elegant" and professional as well, with his slim but very efficient filter housing (K&N HighPerformance panel filter, part-# 33-2118). Also the elbow-hose for the smog-pump connects at the correct position, just as OEM - no improvisation required at all! All in all this set-up represents a well engineered masterpiece which neatly follows aerodynamically inspirated requirements. Therefore the Power! Worth every cent, beleive me!
By the way: WELCOME TO THE FORUM   Enjoy your ride and stay safe all the times! :blueangel:

I didn't really think so, but I have LT headers and PRT's so it may be that I just don't hear it.

I installed the Halltech T-1 on mine and it had a definite change on the engine sounds esp. accelerating from a dead stop and at WOT. Of course I also cut the plastic panels by the foglights so resonance from that could also contribute to the acoustics.

Another HallTech TRIC guy saying yes. But like others have said, put headers on and that 'intake' sound will disappear.

Yes it will change the sound, not necessarily cold air intakes but free flowing air intakes. It will be have a louder sound especially when revving the engine when it the car is parked. What you hear is the engine ingesting the air. The factory air box was designed to be quiet.
