Default NEW! Comp Cams LS1 Rocker Arm Trunion Upgrade

Comp Cams LS1 Rocker Arm Trunion Upgrade $134.95

Valve train technology leader introduces new premium trunion upgrade for GM LS1 rocker arms to optimize both performance & durability

There’s no denying that the GM LS1 engine platform has proven itself as a performer. The valve train is no different, with an improved design that makes for a perfect combination of power and durability to complement the impressive cathedral port cylinder head design. The rocker arm design features a lightweight, yet stiff rocker body that is strong enough for most applications. However, when it comes to high performance racing applications, high rpm and high valve spring pressures can put the factory rocker arm’s trunion under intolerable stress.

Enter COMP Cams® with a new LS1 rocker arm retro-fit trunion kit that replaces the cageless, loose OEM needle bearings and powdered metal trunion with a premium 8620 steel alloy trunion and caged roller bearings for added durability. The new design from COMP Cams® utilizes caged roller bearings that greatly reduce the possibility of the bearing failure experienced with stock LS1 needle bearings, which can send loose needles throughout the engine upon failure.

Perfect for drag and circle track racing applications that mandate the use of stock engine components, this performance rocker arm modification is a “must have” upgrade for your LS1 factory rocker arms. As proof of success, for the last two years this rocker arm trunion upgrade has been tested and performance-proven in the NASCAR GM LS spec engine series.

Features & Benefits:
• Replaces OEM powdered-metal trunion with stiffer, more durable 8620 steel alloy material
• Factory needle bearings replaced with caged roller bearings to increase rigidity & reliability
• Designed for circle track & drag racing classes where stock engine components are mandated
• Performance-proven & tested in NASCAR GM LS spec engine series

Would there be any issues using these with aftermarket dual spring setups?

Do you have any installation instructions? How hard to install?

Wonder if they considered a poly sleeve bearing when designing this setup.

Nice looking upgrade irregardless. Wish they would develop a shim set for the stock rockers so you could adjust the wipe pattern.

I bet these would be good for just about anyone out there. My son has already had one of his stockers come apart. These should eliminate that possibility from ever happening again. I like the idea too.

Nice upgrade for stock heads - would be nice if wipe could be adjusted for aftermarket heads like Vettenuts points out!!

Do these have to be pressed into the rocker arm body, or can they be installed by hand?

There's no installation instructions. You'll need a press to install.

Thanks Seth. How much does Hinson charge, if a person sent in his rockers and had the upgrade done at your shop?

How do these compare to the Harland Sharp ones that everyone rants and raves about? How much would I be looking at for a machine shop to install?

That's what I wanted to know. Requiring a press makes things a lot more cumbersome as I plan to install new springs next month and wanted to install these at the same time. Seems like replacing with aftermarter rocker arms would be a lot simpler and faster.

HS has their own Roller Rockers and they can also modify your factory ones.

I'll buy a kit today if they are as good as the Harland Sharp ones. Anyone know what a typical machine shop would charge to press these in?

I'm waiting for a call back from Hinson to see how much they will charge to upgrade the rockers.
