Default time for a new ebcm? nothing fix's problem so far..

2000 6spd.vert-with all options, no engine mod's..-
dash still lights up traction control , abs, needs service..lights come on at about 7-10 miles after start-up, or if i immediatly floor it briefly when driving... the dic still codes c1233-RF wheel sensor short or bad..etc.
i've replaced the RF hub assembly, "switched" the 32" harness's from LF to RF and same code, i've rechecked -the female connectors (as per bill c's previous post's -# 143 etc.),we've run -looped-current from the ebcm to the RF wheel hub assembly and back to the ebcm, then did the LF wheel ***'y. and both showed the same results indicating good wires, connections etc--i believe..and checked the grounds..
i'm out of ideas......

anything else i can try ? or is it time for a new ebcm? (from this forum's parts for sale).
thank's for you're help.

John it sounds like the board in your ABS is cracked or the solder joints are cracked!

Have you tried the ABS FIXER? - I and many others have used him and the results are always the same a "FIXED" problem at a fraction of the cost of a new EBCM here is the link:
http://www.absfixer.com/

Give him a call ASAP and get it fixed

Thanks,Matt

Matt.
i've talked with Brandon at abs fix and he said he can't fix for code c1233--or on a 2000 car..
where do i look for the solder joints cracks you mentioned on the abs board.? (are they-or will they -be visible?).
thanks.

Well generally speaking they are not that easy to find or see - the right tools make a huge difference when it comes to this!

If you spoke with him then the code you are getting has nothing to do with what he is capable of fixing!

When mine went out or kept giving me codes, 1998 we talked and there is not much he could do for those years but I decided to send it to him and he found cracks in the solder joints with his equipment and he resoldered them and it has been good since!

I have repaired a few winshield wiper motors like this, by resoldering each joint-at times you can see the crack on the base of the joint and sometimes not - it's kinda like our Climate Controls when they go dim and we resolder the resistors marked 140 and all is good - we can't see those but the fix works because it was cracked under the resistor and lost the connection!

You could try to see which years are compatable with our 2000 and look in the Parts For Sale section and get one from a wrecked Vette - should be a little cheaper than a new one or you might need to get a new one

let me know - did he say why he could not fix yours, why that particular code?

Thanks,Matt

i'll try to look, find, pull ,the unit this week-end.absfix-had said that that code (c1233)was a ebcm problem that was not a fixable one for them. i think he said that he does the 2001-2004 units, but still not that code fix.
thanks again.i'll start looking on the forum for a used one and check with gene c for a price on a new one ..
i'll let you know what happens.

Hey! John!

I found this one @ Corvette Recycling - give it a look, I will continue to see if I can find more for you!
http://www.corvetterecycling.com/pro...57049-1321.htm

I believe ours or @ least mine is sunk in epoxy and that was what makes them harder to fix but fortunetly mine was able to be fixed!

Thanks,Matt

If, as you say, you have "all options", I assume that to mean you have active handling (RPO code JL4). That being the case, it appears as though the correct GM part number for a new EBCM for your 2000 would be: 9376711.

After a brief search, I located that one new for $364.50.

hey there lone star..
i just looked and, the top of the ebcm part in the car says model -09360921..it also says--ABS 5-TCS/AH...Delco Electronics.....above it....
(yes i have active handling..that would be the JL 4 option-right?)
is the model number the same as the part number? (i thought so)..
so what is the 9376711 part number?-a 2nd unit for these 2000 cars..
thanks for the tip.

john

ps..to mad matt and kg54trains,
i'll follow up on you're tip's in the morning.
thanks again guys.

Matt.
i called corvette recyling and they said they didn't have the unit i need.. apparently the -"ABS-5 TCS/AH" unit is significant for the '99 and '00 cars-- and they have --"ABS-5 TCS/MSVA2"..for the '99-'00 cars ...that the '01-04 cars are much different and not interchangeable,--and the '97-'98 cars are also much different..
although it was very informative, i'm back to the search...
thanks for the lead .

Kg54 trains---i've sent tech@autoecu an email for info...
thanks again..

lone star--can you let me know where and who has the unit for $365.
i'm still searching..

thanks again all.

The sticker on the unit that says (in part) Model no, etc, etc, is NOT the part number of the unit. Yes, JL4 is the active handling RPO code.

The 9376711 is the GM part number that is used to order/buy a replacement for your year, for your options (JL4 in this case).

http://www.rmsautoparts.com/proddetail.php?prod=9376711

That price by the way is even cheaper than our forum vendors can do. I checked. I found it after a brief search of the part number after looking it up. If you want to verify the part number for yourself, call the GM dealer of your choice and give them your complete VIN.

BTW: No, I don't have anything to do with that source. Just one that I found fairly quickly.

I can't wait to see if this fixes your problem, my symptoms and codes are nearly identical to yours.

Glad to help.

I just ordered one too, from a different source. Mine uses a different part number than yours. I just received it today and have already installed it. Perfect fit.

I changed mine out as more of a preventative measure. I've got 156K (approx) miles on the clock and my EBCM has only acted up a couple times in the past. That many miles and the fact that nothing lasts forever made me go ahead and replace it; not to mention I got an OUTSTANDING price. I couldn't pass it up.

Give us some feedback when you get yours installed.

Robert
