Default 440cid LS7 information needed

Hi guys,

Just starting some initial research on 440ci long / short blocks. Short block option would use locally (Aussie) ported LS7 heads. As far as I can see, there are a few off-the-shelf options:

LME 440
Texas Speed 440
SDPC 440

I am wanting to put this in a M6 C5 Corvette for 70% track / 20% street use. Need info on high compression N/A setups that are not too sick in traffic. This would be using a custom twin-plenum ITB manifold. What are realistic rwhp goals and street manners? Fuel economy, max RPM etc?

Any comments from members with the above supplier engines?

We have built quite a few 440 LS7 combinations. We typically run TrickFlow 235cc cathedral port cylinder heads matched to a ported FAST intake manifold. As far as numbers are concerned we tend to make approximately 600rwhp and 550rwtq. This is with a mid 250s duration camshaft and 11.1:1 compression. There are atleast three members on this forum that run our 440 LS7 and absolutely love it!!!

Feel free to give me a call or shoot me a PM if you have any questions or would like to discuss an engine for your specific goals.

Thanks Ron.

In the early stages of research and am just putting together a parts list. Also adding the cost of all the "extras" e.g. drivetrain, fuel system, cooling etc.

Default Ls7 440

I just had one built by Mast Motorsports. Mild cam , 11.2 :1 compression , Mast LS7 cnc'd heads that flow 390cfm! Its not in the car yet, but it made 665/ 560 on their Superflow Engine Dyno . Thats with a small cam and stock , unported LS7 intake mainifold. They can make BIG power. They are competitive in price and offer a 18 month warranty. Best of luck with your build !!

With a good set of LS7 heads 590-600rwhp is very obtainable realistically.

I'm one of the three and I do love my motor. I'm just over two years without a single issue. The car drives great. It's been on long trips and many top end runs. I would strongly recommend Vengeance, and not just for the performance. Their customer service was top notch and they continue to awnser any questions I have quickly.

I'll be sending the car back your way for the install shortly. There are a couple of other things I'm hoping to do at the same time, but the car is running great. I'll e-mail soon so we can make a plan on getting everything done.
On a side note, the wife bought me a HSW Microedge+ controller for Christmas! Totaly unexpected. She complains a bit, but she's a keeper.

I made around 700rwhp with a 388ci motor in my c5Z(m6). Street manners are tremendous with an ITB mani. We idle around 550rpms and there is no bucking stalling issues. I'll find out fuel economy when I get the exhausrt on and drive around.

Sprinter - I am also one of the Vengence Racing LS7 440ci owners. I made 603 RWHP and 563 RWTQ; my engine has been in for a little over one year with no issues at all. I use the car as more of a weekend warrior car than a daily driver. As far as performance and customer service I have used 3 different tuners in the last 5 years for performance modifications and The Vengence team goes above and beyond any others that I have dealt with. I highly recommend them for any work you are thinking of doing. If you have any specific questions; feel free to contact me.
