Great work Bill.. I think the moderators should have a Bill Curlee section on this forum with all your relevant posts... Maybe a sticky at least

Sway Bar replacement is fairly straight forward. Unbolt, remove and reinstall, torque the bolts in place.

Fronts: Disconnect the end links, remove the bolts that secure the bushings caps, remove the bar, reinstall the bar and torque the cap bolts in place. 40 ft/lbs Reinstall the endlinks. Strongly recommend using the ZO6 FRONT and REAR metal end links!!! The end link nuts are torqued to: 55 ft lbs

The rear sway bar cap bolts are installed and removed the same as the front except; The upper & lower cap bolts have TWO DIFFERENT bolt torques:

Torque specs:

The UPPER sway bar cap bolt are= 49 ft/lbs

The LOWER cap bolts are lower A arm suspension bolts and are torqued to: 70 ft/lbs. NOTE: If you over torque the UPPER cap bolts, you will strip them out. They do NOT secure suspension arm components!!

The LOWER sway bar cap bolts are part of the active suspension and secure the lower control arms to the cradle... They are secured with MORE torque than the upper bolts!

SHOCKS!

Shocks are easy! Unbolt and remove, reinstall! When you reinstall the shocks, I pre-compress the gas charged shocks outside the vehicle and use some nylon string to keep the new shock compressed until I have it in place.
Once the shock is in place, I cut the string and allow the pressurized gas in the shock to expand the shock and it expands into it's mounting position.

FRONT shock bolt Specs=

Upper bolts = 19 Ft/lbs
Lower bolts = 21 Ft/lbs

REAR shock bolt Specs =

Upper = 22 ft/lbs
Lower = 162 ft/lbs YEP,,,checked in TWO different service manuals! There robust bolts!

This is a EASY repair!
